You can use " How do you like " when you want to know what somebody thinks about something, someone or some place!
Ex:
How do you like Brazil?- O que vc está achando do Brasil?
How do you like my friend?- O que vc acha do meu amigo?
How do you like my new looking?- O que vc acha do meu novo visual?
How do you like = O que vc acha de..., o que vc pensa de... , o que vc está achando de...?
When you ask, for example, "Do you like the English language?", people can answer with a mere "Yes" or "No". But when you ask "How do you like the English language?", you are asking about the way people like (or dislike) it. "How do you like...?" asks for additional information, when people answer this type of question, they will certainly need to emphasize the qualities (or faults) of the subject in question.
